You think it\u0092s so amazing, and you could have never even thought it up. But the people who have [this thing] have it without irony. And so you\u0092re stupefied by it and you have to respect it because it is so peculiar and so weird and much crazier than you could ever think, but those other people think they\u0092re normal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Bad bad taste is condescending, making fun of others. An old plastic pink flamingo on a lawn that two older people have had forever is just good taste. But a plastic pink flamingo on a yuppie\u0092s front lawn is bad bad taste.<br \/>\nIt\u0092s not even the original\u0097it\u0092s mass produced, and they\u0092re way too late on the joke.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><em>So that\u0092s the difference for me: if you\u0092re celebrating something or you\u0092re looking down on something.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Excerpt from Rookie Mag&#8217;s interview with John Waters.
