{"id":2969,"date":"2008-10-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christiebeaulac.com\/?p=2969"},"modified":"2008-10-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-12T00:00:00","slug":"botany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelooksee.com\/botany\/","title":{"rendered":"Botany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is what a botany book should look like.\u00a0 I found this a while back&#8230; probably at a thrift store, but I don&#8217;t remember.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thelooksee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/plantkingdom_p1000239.jpg\" title=\"plantkingdom_p1000239.jpg\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker('\/file\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/plantkingdom_p1000239.jpg');\"><img src=\"http:\/\/thelooksee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/plantkingdom_p1000239.jpg\" title=\"plantkingdom_p1000239.jpg\" alt=\"plantkingdom_p1000239.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if I mentioned this but at the ripe old age of 28 I decided to go back to school to finish my Associates degree, and this semester I&#8217;m taking a botany class at Pasadena City College, to fill the science lab-lecture requirement.\u00a0 I was very excited about taking this class, and still am.\u00a0 My teacher is Dr. Debra Fulsom, who is a research botanist for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huntington.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker('\/outbound\/www.huntington.org\/');\">Huntington Botanical Gardens<\/a> and also apparently a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Climate-Gardening-Succulents-American-Garden\/dp\/0679758291\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker('\/outbound\/www.amazon.com\/Climate-Gardening-Succulents-American-Garden\/dp\/0679758291');\">published author<\/a> (which I only found upon Googling her!).\u00a0 It&#8217;s a fascinating subject for me, as I have been obsessed with plants since I was about 13.\u00a0 Anyway, I just wanted to post this beautiful old botany book and have you compare it to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Biology-Plants-Peter-H-Raven\/dp\/1572590416\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker('\/outbound\/www.amazon.com\/Biology-Plants-Peter-H-Raven\/dp\/1572590416');\">this cover<\/a>, which is what is on my <em>actual<\/em> schoolbook&#8230; no offense to Van Gogh, but this is inappropriate for a botany book.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is what a botany book should look like.\u00a0 I found this a while back&#8230; probably at a thrift store, but I don&#8217;t remember.
