The George Eastman House<\/a> (as in Kodak Eastman company), now a museum, has joined the Library of Congress<\/a> in creating a Flickr account<\/a> and posting old photos from their archives for the public to see, tag, and comment on. I feel that more historical societies should do this. Not only does it engage a new audience who may never have thought to visit places such as these, but it provides a much needed link to the past for old and young.\u00a0 It is such an inexpensive way of curating and\/or documenting historical photographs which probably have not been exhibited before, due to the sheer volume of the collections. The autochrome set on the Eastman photostream is particularly lovely. Here are a few that I love.<\/p>\n
