Vintage Find: Mid-Century ceramic lion
I found this guy today. He’s so cute, I’m torn about whether I should keep him or sell him.

These lamps and shades are so beautiful. They look like so much fun that I am dabbling with the idea of making my own…

J 1 Studio
“The concept was to create furniture for modern nomadic culture. It is easy to setup and pack flat for space saving transportation. The first approach was to get rid of screws. This also gets rid of the tools in assembling the furniture. T.SHELF uses cable and zipties to tie every triangle into one piece of furniture/sculpture and functions as displaying books, magazines, plants, pictures, or anything you want to display.”
I love that these can so easily be transformed into sculpture and/or functional object. I especially love the T Shelf and the M Stool. The use of zip-ties may seem a bit declassé, but if you want to change things around easily, they’re kinda perfect.

Etsy vintage picks: At home
Just a few things of interest that I think would add some character or warmth to a home, depending on your style. I know I could see any of these in my house (but then again my style is all over the place)! My particular favourites are the boar’s head, and the beautiful woven pillow cover, which has a mate here that is also fantastic.
I once read a designer say basically that no matter what the object is, if you really love it, it will fit into your house, and I’ve found that to be true. Somehow all the things you like end up kind of working together because they reflect something in common- you. Do you find that to be true in your house?

Kiosk: some souvenirs for me!
My husband went to New York last week and (much to my envy) was able to visit the Kiosk store in SoHo. He brought me some little gifts which I love- a polka dotted Tenugui (dish/hand towel), a comb with a french pun on it, and a little carved fish ring made of a seashell.
Enormous Champion towels
I have a serious addiction to kitchen towels: floursack, huck, linen… you name it. I usually only buy vintage ones, but I am in love with these two by Enormous Champion at Heath Ceramics.
