Pardon my embarrassingly dry hands.  I really hate posting any photo of my hands because they’re hard to photograph in a flattering way.

So I chose this oddly hip-hop looking pose. BIG PIMPIN’.

Anyway, I found this malachite ring and am super stoked about it.

This über-feminine collection from Marchesa seems so refreshing to me right now after what’s been in fashion for the past few seasons.  Despite the fact that my own tastes are definitely more on the masculine side at the moment as well, I find that I’m really inspired by these frothy, intricate gowns for fall.

I hope you ushered in 2012 in style.  I made a little last minute janky fluorescent paper crown for  myself, and was glad I did!  There’s nothing like a silly accessory to make you feel more in the spirit of the holiday.

Made with: fluorescent orange paint; a plastic headband, rubber cement, construction paper; a variety of Formaline tapes.

May your 2012 be better than your 2011!

“Pacific Standard Time is an unprecedented collaboration of cultural institutions across Southern California coming together to celebrate the birth of the L.A. art scene. Beginning October 2011, over 60 cultural institutions will make their contributions to this region-wide initiative encompassing every major L.A. art movement from 1945 to 1980.”

I’m super excited about these upcoming shows and events in and around LA. I suppose I should also mention that my jewelry line is going to be featured in the Orange County Museum of Art’s shop in conjunction with their Two Schools of Cool exhibit and State of Mind: New California Art Circa 1970, which is their contribution to Pacific Standard Time. I’m currently working on a batch of one-of-a-kind pieces for them, mainly with vintage materials.
