I love these illustrations by Ivan Bilibin of Baba Yaga (the lower illustration) and Vasilisa.  Dark and beautifully unsettling (as fairy tales really are).  I had never heard the tale of Baba Yaga until I worked with a Ukranian woman.  Today while refreshing my memory of her fable, I discovered Ivan Bilibin’s illustrations.
