The costumes in this video are amazing. This was directed by the Glue Society, and the track itself was produced on a Nintendo DSi!

Vintage find: Sears Com/Trek IV

June 6th, 2009 | local (L.A.), music, vintage, general, design | No Comments »

Found this sexy thang at a thrift store yesterday.  I’m in love.  It works like a dream, it’s portable, there’s a place to stick earphones in (which kind of cracks me up), and you could stick batteries in it and take it to the park. Oh yeah, and it’s covered in faux woodgrain and metal.

Department of Eagles premiered their new Patrick Daughters and Marcel Dzama directed video for the single “No One Does It Like You” on March 25th at MoMA.  It’s like watching Dzama’s paintings come to life.  Check it out.  The song is good too!

My good friends over at Bodies of Water just sent over a link to their music video for “Under the Pines” which was a long time in the making.  *Warning there is some fake violence and gore.*  Click on the image below for a link to the hi-res version of the video.  It’s been pulled, so the image will just take you to YouTube… sorry.

Bjork: Wanderlust video

For those of you who (like me) don’t have access to MTV or VH1, you really must watch Bjork’s new music video for Wanderlust, simply for how beautiful and creative it is.  It was made by Encyclopedia Pictura.

I like this cover of Massive Attack’s “Teardrop” by Jose Gonzalez, and this video that goes with it.

Music Animation Machine

December 9th, 2007 | music, video, design | No Comments »

Music Animation Machine is midi-rendered classical songs which have been animated… ’nuff said. Stephen Malinowski’s site is nothing glamourous, but the designs produced by his program are beautiful. The shot below is from his Claire de Lune animation.
